Teacher, Elementary Music (K-5)

SUMMARY:     This position instructs elementary vocal music students; develops a good quality program; and arranges/moves instruments, music stands, chairs, and other equipment as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:     Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations/times designated.
  2. Plans a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and student abilities.
  3. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  4. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  5. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lesson units/projects and communicates these objectives to students.
  6. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  7. Maintains confidentiality of student information.

Salary Information

Starting salary $45,000 with a bachelor's degree based upon the 2023-24 salary schedule, higher depending upon experience, graduate hours, and FTE.  New teachers will be paid $100 per day to attend up to four (4) new teacher orientation days.
