JOB BRIEF:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Valid Kansas teachers certificate and endorsement in the area of application or assignment.
  • Two years of teaching experience.
  • Certified as a special math teacher.

REPORTS TO:  

  • Building Principal.
  • Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board of Educations policy on evaluation of certified personnel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meets and instructs assigned students in basic math skills.
  • Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
  • Interprets student needs and progress in math remediation to the classroom teacher and the parents.
  • Confers with parents concerning individual students having special math problems or requiring special remedial help, and with any parents requesting such a conference.
  • Administers and interprets, as appropriate, test results and statistical data concerning math.
  • Develops special instructional programs for educationally handicapped students.
  • Assist in the selection of reading materials appropriate for remediating math problems.
  • Devises and maintains such records and reports as are necessary for the successful execution of the job.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
  • Possesses a knowledge of operation and use of a variety of teaching machines.
  • Attends and participates in staff and faculty meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
