Transportation DirectorSmith Center USD 237 • www.usd237.org Oversee the scheduling of bus routes, activity trips and other vehicle requests. Develop and administer a transportation program to meet al the requirements for the daily instructional program and extracurricular activities. Schedule any required maintenance on all school owned vehicles. Recruit, train and supervise all transportation personnel. Schedule and handle all safety meetings required by the State and district, all required paperwork. Schedule state compliant drug testing and schedule required bus evacuation drills. Advise superintendent on road hazards for decisions on school closing during inclement weather. Annual physical examination as required by law. Competent to assign responsibilities including leadership ability. Preferred applicant have a CDL or will to get, with required “S” and “P” endorsements. The district is willing to work with the applicant to obtain the CDL and endorsements. Working mechanical knowledge.
