Music Accompanist - Districtwide - 2022-2023

Atchison Public Schools is accepting applications for Districtwide Music Accompanist for the 2022-2023 school year. 

Position description: 

• Assist with the supervision and education of students as requested by teacher.
• Establish a positive relationship with students for classroom success.
• Effectively present and monitor the instructional tasks for the student as demonstrated by the teacher. 
• Accompany for rehearsal and performances.
• Assist the choral director with rehearsals- concerts- meetings and trips- if requested.
• Work in collaboration with the choral director and be able to follow the conducting of the director.  Interpret accompaniments musically and sensitively at the direction of the choral director.
• Evaluate and give feedback to director and students regarding rehearsal and performance.
• Assist in vocal auditions- solo preparation- and small group rehearsal- if requested.
• Assist in daily preparation for choral program.
• Prepare accompaniments and rehearse with solo and ensembles in preparation for district and state contests.
• Play for performances at district and state.
• Observe and follow all school district policies at all times.
• Respond to information requests in a cooperative- courteous- and timely manner.
• Keep student and personnel records confidential.
• Implement and follow all District health and safety policies- including all precautions of the Blood borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan.
• Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the building administrator or classroom teacher.
