USD 480 is currently accepting applications for the position of School Psychologist.
Candidates must meet the Kansas State Department of Education Special Education Certification requirements.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Special Education
SALARY: In accordance with the Professional Agreement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Eligible for a valid certificate for a school psychologist from KSDE.
- Master`s Degree
- Specialist Degree
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize appropriate diagnostic practices to assess students educational concern.
- Assist and consult with administrative and general education personnel in the identification of students with academic and behavioral concerns.
- Review clinical files information on students and conduct teacher and parent interviews as necessary.
- Select appropriate diagnostic instruments, administer in the recommended manner. Compile results in a report and submit to the appropriate person(s) in a timely manner.
- Consult with parents and school personnel, providing psychological test information and recommendations for interventions and strategies for educational and behavioral needs.
- Attend eligibility conferences, providing multidisciplinary team members psychological information.
- Attend conferences, act as a liaison, assist in the district with professional relationships with community services.
- Provide staff in-services on special education issues.
- Keep abreast of new developments in the field by seeking appropriate continu9ng educational experiences and attending staff, professional and interagency meetings, and consuming and conducting research.
- Act as a liaison between USD 480 & Mental Health Facilities.
- Coordinate and affirm that a comprehensive multidisciplinary, non-discriminatory evaluation.
- Other duties as assigned.
