Special Education Teacher Bright Beginnings Preschool (Dodge City)

The Southwest Kansas Area Cooperative District (SKACD 613) is a special education interlocal that services 14 unified school districts in southwestern Kansas.  

SKACD is currently accepting applications for an Early Childhood special education teacher in Dodge City, KS.  

The special education teacher will be appropriately licensed as a special education teacher or be willing to obtain the appropriate license. Minimum licensure requirements for this position is 60 college credit hours.  Fully licensed Kansas special educators are eligible to receive an annual $5,000 stipend.

The special education teacher will be responsible to work with students with disabilities and their regular education teachers to allow them to access the general curriculum in the most appropriate environment.  Special education teachers also complete administrative tasks related to the procedural requirements of special education (IEP documentation, general education intervention participation, and completing annual meetings with parents to review each students progress toward their IEP goals.)

Our school district employs three instructional coaches and an internal IEP review process to assist new employees in the development of appropriate practices related to special education service delivery.  No experience with teaching special education?  No problem -- we can help!  We will also provide you a pathway to obtaining a masters degree in special education while earning a full teaching salary.  

SKACD serves both large (6A) and small (1A) school districts and have an opportunity waiting for you.  Multiple settings and age levels are available for teaching assignments.
