BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE Special Education teacher provides & leads the creation and implementation of a specialized designed instructional program that increases opportunities for students receiving sped services in the least restrictive environment.

Classroom Environment Create a classroom environment of respect and rapport Establish a culture for learning Establish and maintain classroom procedures Establish expectations for and manage student behaviors Organize space for learning 3. Instruction based upon students Individual Education Plans Communicate clearly and accurately Use a variety of instructional strategies and techniques Engage students in learning Provide timely feedback to students Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to student needs 4. Professional responsibilities Follow contractual responsibilities Engage in reflective practice Maintain accurate records Communicate with families Engage in professional development activities Maintain appropriate licensure Collaborate with others to achieve a common goal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Support the philosophy and vision of special education services with LCNCK. 2. Attend final general education student intervention team meetings to ensure that all documentation of the general education intervention process and response to invention documentation necessary to the evaluation process has been completed accurately. 3. Monitor all referrals through the evaluation process, meet with evaluation team regularly. 4. Review IEP and Evaluation files to ensure that they meet all regulatory and district standards, are written to reflect best practice, reflect high quality programming and are implemented with integrity. 5. Submit all required documentation to the district office in a timely manner. 6. Enter accurate data into the district student information system in a timely manner. 7. Possess knowledge legal regulations governing our program. 8. Utilize data to guide the focus of student IEPs and improve student achievement.
Term of Employment: Teacher Contract
Salary Range: Determined by placement on teacher salary schedule. Additional days beyond the contract year will be compensated according to the negotiated agreement in effect
Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be evaluated in accordance with state regulations and the terms established in the negotiated agreement.
