Qualifications:
1. Licensed in the State of Kansas
2. Minimum of masters degree in educational administration.
3. Other as board of education finds appropriate and acceptable.
 
Reports to: Principal
 
Supervises: Such staff members as the principal designates.
 
Job Goal:  To use leadership, supervisory and administrative skills so as to promote the educational development of each student and staff member
 
Terms of Employment: Salary and length of contract to be established by the board of education.
 
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the boards policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  1. Assists in establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate in the school.
  2. Assists in planning, organizing, and directing the implementation of all school activities.
  3. Informs the superintendent and/or assistant superintendent of the schools activities and problems.
  4. Makes recommendations concerning the schools administration and instruction.
  5. Aides in the preparation of the schools budgetary requests and monitors expenditures of funds.
  6. Maintains required building records and reports.
  7. Prepares or supervises the preparation of reports, records, lists, and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the schools administration. (Including accreditation and state reports).
  8. Works with various members of the district administrative staff on school issues that relate to district-wide concerns.
  9. Enforces district policies and administrative regulations.
  10. Maintains active relationships with students and parents.
  11. Practices time management to ensure the efficient operation of the school.
  12. Participates in the development of the instructional program.
  13. Works collaboratively with the building administrator to schedule classes within established guidelines to meet student needs.
  14. Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary.
  15. Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attends school sponsored activities and functions.
  16. Works with the building administrator to maintain accurate records on the progress and attendance of students.
  17. Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development through membership and participation in the affairs of professional organizations, through attendance at regional, state, and national meetings, etc.
  18. Assists in the supervision of all professional, para educator, administrative, and non-professional personnel assigned to the school.
  19. Participates in the selection and supervision of all school building personnel.
  20. Participants in the onboarding of newly assigned staff members and assists in their development, as appropriate.
  21. Evaluates and counsels all staff members regarding their individual and group performance, as assigned.
  22. Assists in conducting meetings of the staff as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.
  23. Assists in the professional learning and training of teachers, with special responsibility for staff administrative procedures and instructions.
  24. Makes arrangements for special conferences between parents and teachers.
  25. Assists in the monitoring of safety and administration of the school plant.
  26. Plans and supervises fire drills and crisis preparedness program.
  27. Provides for adequate inventories of property under his/her jurisdiction and for the security and accountability for that property.
  28. Assist in all activities and programs that are outgrowths of the schools curriculum.
  29. Participates in principals meetings and such other meetings as are required or deemed appropriate by the superintendent and/or assistant superintendent.
  30. Responds to written and oral requests for information.
  31. Works collaboratively with the building administrator on official school correspondence and news releases.
  32. Acts as liaison between the school and the community, encouraging community participation in school life.
  33. Serves as a member of such committees and attends such meetings as directed by the building administrator and/or the superintendent.
  34. Assists in the proper implementation of the special education programs in the building.
  35. Assists with the enrolling of students, as well as their withdrawal from school (including requests, sending and maintenance of all student records).
  36. Supports a collaborative professional community that includes input from students, staff, and parents as program design in all curriculum areas is developed.
  37. Performs other duties as assigned by the building administrator and/or superintendent and/or assistant superintendent.
