CERTIFIED ORIENTATION & MOBILITY SPECIALIST Cowley County Special Services Cooperative (CCSSC / USD 465) 2024-25 School Year.  Job Summary: The primary role of the Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) is to provide services to children with visual impairments for orientation and safe travel skills within the classroom, school and community.  Minimum Required Qualifications:  Bachelors degree from accredited college/university; valid drivers license and ability to travel between sites on a daily basis; knowledge of relevant technology; and effective communication skills, including video conferencing - knowledge of assistive technology devices and equipment for educational access is preferred.  Qualified individuals should have or be eligible for a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) Certificate through ACVREP.  Salary per USD 465 Negotiated Agreement Salary Schedule, placement commensurate with education level and years of experience.  You may contact the person listed below for a more detailed listing of benefits offered, responsibilities, and physical requirements for this position.
