USD 448 Inman is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary School Counselor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of elementary school students.

 

**Responsibilities:**

1. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, social, and emotional concerns.

2. Develop and deliver classroom guidance programs focusing on essential life skills, character development, and conflict resolution.

3. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to identify and address students` academic and personal needs.

4. Administer assessments to identify students` strengths, challenges, and potential barriers to academic success.

5. Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies or traumatic events.

6. Advocate for students by working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and administrators to create a positive and inclusive school culture.

7. Design and implement prevention programs targeting issues such as bullying and substance abuse.

8. Assist students with academic and career planning, helping them set goals and make informed decisions.

9. Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions.

10. Stay current on trends, research, and best practices in school counseling through ongoing professional development activities.

 

**Qualifications:**

- Master`s degree in School Counseling or a related field.

- State licensure or certification as a school counselor.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Experience working with elementary school students preferred.

- Knowledge of relevant counseling techniques, interventions, and assessment tools.

Salary Information

USD 448 has a very competitive salary schedule. The teacher will be placed on the USD 448 salary schedule based on years of experience and education.

Employer Information

Inman USD 448 is located in central Kansas between Hutchinson and McPherson.  We have two school facilities in our district:  Inman Elementary School and Inman Junior/Senior High School.  The total enrollment of the two schools is approximately 450 students.  Inman is a class 2A school and is a member of the Heart of America League.
