Fine Arts Teacher w/ 4-day week

Argonia USD 359 has an opening for a Fine Arts Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. This would include 3 courses of HS Art, 1 course of MS Art, and 2 courses of Elementary Fine Arts (a combination of Art and Music with at least a few music performances throughout the year); specific classes to be determined once a candidate is selected. 

Students are on a four-day week with attendance on Tuesday through Friday; teachers attend an average of one Monday per month for in-services or conferences. The district runs a daycare with all staff receiving the benefit of discounted rates. 

District pays a portion of the KPERS penalty for retired applicants.

All candidates must submit the information listed below:

  • a letter of interest,  
  • a current resume,
  • a list of references,
  • a copy of your current Kansas teaching license (or proof of your ability to obtain a Kansas license),
  • a completed application (either the Educate Kansas application or the district`s application, which can be obtained by calling the USD 359 district office at (620) 435-6311, ext 3).

 

Coaching and supplemental positions may be available and the district has a successful history working with Transition to Teaching candidates or those desiring to add additional endorsements to their current license.

 

The district is 1:1 for all 6-12 students, and, being located in Sumner County, all teachers also receive yearly stipends from the Kansas Star Casino to purchase classroom materials.  

 

Interviews will be scheduled and conducted upon receipt of completed files; position will be filled as soon as a qualified applicant is available.
