This position is a key leadership role that will serve as the Treasurer to the Board of Education and supervise the Business Management Team.  Will be responsible for overseeing financial operations- budgeting- and ensuring compliance with fiscal policies.

 

 

Knowledge- Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration- Accounting- or related financial services degree is required.
  • Knowledge of accounting- banking- payroll- accounts receivable- and accounts payable management is required with a minimum of five years’ experience and proven success in field.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting software is required with executive understanding of network security protection for financial and human resource software systems.
  • Knowledge of governmental procurement policies- negotiated agreements- and personnel management.
  • Certified Public Accountant license as well as experience with Kansas school finance preferred.
  • Registered School Business Official/Administrator with the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Directs budget development- adoption- and annual certification of Ad-Valorem tax levies.
  • Invests District Monies in accordance with state law.
  • As the senior administrator- oversees all district financial records- General Obligation Bond and Lease Finance Debt- external audits (Federal- State- and Local programs)- District Risk Management programs- and internal audits (School Activity Funds).
  • Oversees all payroll functions including tax filings- W-2 creation and distribution- and Affordable Care Act 1095(C) reporting.
  • Manages the district’s Tax-Advantaged Retirement and Section 125 Benefit Plans.
  • Oversees all accounts payable and receivable functions.

 

 

Other Job Functions:

 

  • Supervises senior level employees in the Fiscal Services Department.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of strategic financial goals.
  • Ensures adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
