USD 320, Wamego, has a vacancy for an Instructional Aide in grades 3-5 at West Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year.  The approximate start date for this position is the week of August 8.  This is not a certified teaching position, however,  aides may be asked to cover classrooms as substitute teachers when needed. Required qualifications include a college degree. Preferred candidates will have a valid teaching license.

Compensation is as follows:  

$15.05 an hour for candidates with a Bachelor`s degree; $16.90 an hour for candidates with a valid Kansas Teaching License. 

Candidates will work the same days as classroom teachers, including professional development days and work days. Hours are approximately 7:40am until 3:40pm.  Knowledge of educational best practices for elementary students is preferred.  In addition to providing instructional support to small groups of students, Instructional Aides will also perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.  This position will be offered a complete benefit package, including health and supplemental insurance, and KPERS retirement.
