RESPONSIBLE TO:  Principal 

PAYMENT RATE: Set by Board of Education

 

 

JOB GOAL 

The Assistant Principal provides assistance to the Principal planning, organizing, directing, evaluating, and coordinating all school programs.


 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the coordination, scheduling, and, administration of all extracurricular student activity programs for the high school and junior high school.

-Manage extracurricular programs, including schedules and transportation;

-Plan and strategically manage the activities purchasing;

-Manage and evaluate all coaches and sponsors each school year;

-Manage and foster outreach to stakeholders outside the school.

-Assist in leading the student discipline program of school.

-Assist in the leadership of the school improvement/MTSS program.

-Support staff development programs for the professional staff of the building.

-Share in the general supervision responsibilities of the school.

-Assist with the personnel management of both classified and certified employees.

-Complete other tasks as assigned by the Principal or the Superintendent of Schools.

Demonstrated ability to respond to needs creatively;

Demonstrated ability to self-start and work independently as needed;

Demonstrated flexibility with schedules, program demands and student needs;

Better than average recommendations from student teaching supervisors or other professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic attainment and classroom performance of the teacher;

Demonstrated ability to work with educators to develop, implement and evaluate instructional strategies and materials to improve learning for all students;

Advanced degree, experience and/or specialized training relative to the position preferred, but not required;

Ability to meet District standards for physical and mental health;

Appearance, grooming, and personality which set an example for students;

ESL/ESOL endorsement preferred, but not required; 

Current Kansas certification, or qualifications that allow for licensure in Kansas.
