John Paul II School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Language Arts Teacher to join our vibrant academic community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and language, a commitment to Catholic education, and the ability to inspire and engage students in the study of English language arts. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement engaging and rigorous curriculum aligned with state standards and the school's mission and values.
- Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive lessons that promote student engagement, critical thinking, and literacy skills development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported in their academic and personal growth.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, including differentiation and scaffolding as needed.
- Integrate Catholic faith and values into instruction and classroom activities, fostering spiritual development and character formation.
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and participate in professional learning communities.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, share information about curriculum and assignments, and solicit feedback.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Uphold the Catholic identity and mission of the school through exemplary conduct, adherence to Catholic teachings, and participation in school liturgies and prayer activities.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching license/certification in the appropriate grade level and subject area.
- Previous experience teaching middle school language arts or related subject area preferred.
- Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
- Commitment to Catholic education and the integration of faith into teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset in response to the needs of diverse learners and changing educational contexts.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development, including participation in workshops, conferences, and other learning opportunities.
- Practicing Catholic preferred.
