As the Program Specialist for the Center for Public Health Initiatives (CPHI), you will lean on your previous experience to help build healthy communities in our state by supporting programs that impact the health of the community which could include supporting health coalitions, Community Health Workers, and improved services of local health departments. Summary of ResponsibilitiesDesigns, develops, and proposes public health capacity-building or related processes to proposed clients. Manages all aspects of the project, responding to client needs and expectations, and fulfilling agreed-upon commitments. Manages multiple clients simultaneously.
Essential Functions
  1. Proposes, secures and delivers work with public health related clients. Manages external partner relationships to ensure the fulfillment of expectations.
  2. Supports the conceptualization, design, and delivery of work related to ongoing public health related projects, working primarily in a team environment.
  3. Addresses and resolves public health project issues to ensure goals remain on track.
  4. Coordinates and prepares reports, materials and presentations to support leaders.
  5. Coordinates and/or facilitates project tasks as assigned.
Minimum EducationBachelor’s degree in related field by hire date
Minimum ExperienceFive (5) years of experience in public health related field. Every 15 hours of graduate college coursework beyond a bachelor`s degree can be substituted for one(1) year of experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Knowledge of public health trends, issues, programs and services.
  2. Ability to lead the design and completion of project plans.
  3. Ability to work collaboratively with external and internal partners in team member and project leadership roles.
  4. Ability to monitor and track multiple project budgets and deliverables.
  5. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Salary Information

The salary range of this position is $49,239-$66,500/year.
