The FHSEC Intensive Skills classrooms  are  available for eligible students grades K-12.  It provides a predictable and structured environment that focuses on growth and learning in the skill areas of: academics, communication, social skills, and independence.  The intentional structuring of this learning environment is designed to equip students for success based on principles grounded in research. 

Strategies utilized within the program include the structure of the classroom, individualized schedules, work systems and visual structure.  Communication systems will be utilized, as appropriate, to ensure that students can independently communicate their wants and needs.  Behavior management systems will also be implemented to provide students with the necessary support and feedback to increase their on task and positive behaviors.  

The ultimate goal is that the students will learn to utilize systems in order to achieve independence across multiple settings.
