This position helps students learn subject matter and practice skills that contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible young men and women.


  1. Teaches district approved curriculum.
  2. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated. 
  3. Plans programs of study that meet individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  4. Recognizes learning problems and makes accommodations. 
  5. Evaluates pupils academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records, and preparing progress reports.
  6. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity and interest of the students. 
  7. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  8. Guides the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes/communicates clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
  9. Is available to students and parents for educational-related purposes outside of the instructional day.
  10. Maintains confidentiality of student information.

Salary Information

Starting salary $45 000 with a bachelor`s degree higher depending upon experience and graduate hours. Salary will be determined by placement on the salary schedule and based on FTE. New teachers are paid $100 per day to attend up to four New Teacher Orientation days.
