TITLE: Teacher QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s degree in education w/appropriate Licensure. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requirements may include prolonged sitting or standing; physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials, stooping, bending, and reaching; also may include some travel, and must work in noisy and crowded environments. Attendance: All employees are expected to maintain satisfactory attendance and report to work on time every day. Frequent unscheduled absences, including late arrivals and early departures, are grounds for discipline, up to and including discharge. Appearance: Employees should consider each day`s activities when determining what to wear. Clothing should allow employees to feel comfortable at work, yet be professional and appropriate for a school environment. PERFORMANCE RESPONISBILITIES: 1 Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. 2 Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. 3 Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. 4 Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of the administration. 5 Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum standards and in harmony with the standards - - establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects to communicate these objectives to students. 7 Employs a variety of instructional techniques, technology, and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. 8 Strives to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional standards. 14 Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes when required or requested at mutually agreeable times.
