Phone: 785.694.2236 Brewster is a small, rural community halfway between Colby and Goodland in Northwest Kansas. Brewster is known to be a great place for families and raising children. Brewster is located a mile north of I-70 which links up to eastern Kansas or Colorado. Brewster has a grocery store, post office, fueling station, and bank in town for convenience. Brewster is approximately three hours from Denver and Colorado Springs to the west. Brewster School is a K-12 system in one building and operates on a four-day week schedule, Monday through Thursday. Brewster receives support services from the Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center in Oakley. Brewster is a 1A school for classification purposes. Teachers are contracted for 155 school days and the teacher work days run from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The school day runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there are 147 student contact days. Brewster has a strong tradition of excellence both inside and outside of the classroom. The staff is dedicated and experienced with a mix of new and seasoned teachers. Brewster School attracts a variety of staff and students from outside the district boundaries. Academically, the school offers all required state core courses with Foreign Language (online), Art, Personal Finance and the complete offerings for Kansas Regents Qualifications and Scholars. Brewster has online college dual credit course options for juniors and seniors. Several juniors and seniors spend their mornings in person at the technical college in Goodland in the CTE program for high school students. Brewster School has a 1:1 technology device ratio. Brewster high school students have a variety of activities available to them including Student Government, National Honor Society, Cross Country, Volleyball, Football, Forensics, Basketball, and Track & Field.
