Beloit School District includes the city of Beloit and adjacent rural areas encompassing 565 square miles of North Central Kansas. Beloit has a population of over 4,000 people. The city is located on highways 24, 14 and 9. Beloit is located 15 minutes from Waconda Lake and Glen Elder State Park's excellent recreational areas.
The Beloit School District offers all-day preschool, all-day kindergarten, special education programs, a comprehensive high school curriculum and an alternative program at the middle school and high school levels.
Beloit Elementary School is a fully accredited educational institution. The staff consists of 40 professionals, along with 2 secretaries, 31 paraeducators and aides, 3 custodians and 4 cooks. The enrollment at Beloit Elementary school has averaged 425 students each year for the last ten years. The average class size is 19 students per teacher.
Beloit Junior Senior High School is a fully accredited educational institution offering a comprehensive educational program regardless of a student's post-secondary plans. Building staff includes 41 professionals, 3 secretaries, 13 paraeducators and aides, 3 custodians, 1 maintenance worker, 1 director of buildings and grounds and 4 cooks. Average enrollment grades 7-12 is 348, with an average class size of 16 students per teacher.
Beloit School District USD #273 is the host district for the Beloit Special Education Cooperative. The Beloit Special Education Cooperative provides a full continuum of services for students with disabilities in accordance to the Individuals with Disabilities Act 2004 (IDEA-R).
