USD 218-Elkhart is located in the southwest corner of the state with programs in place that service the community from birth through adulthood. The Board of Education is very progressive in providing the District with the technology and professional development necessary to provide the students with an education that will prepare them for the future.

The facilities are among the finest in the state, which includes a 999-seat auditorium, two full-sized gyms, an indoor swimming pool, an excellent weight room, a nice track, and a refurbished football field. The District is the home of a high school housing grades 9 - 12, a middle school housing grades 6 - 8, and an elementary school housing a Pre-K program, all-day kindergarten, and grades 1 - 5. A virtual school serving grades K-12 and an alternative school serving grades 9 -12 and adults. All schools are state-accredited.

Elkhart is the Morton County seat and is surrounded by the Cimarron National Grasslands. It offers a small community setting where individuals can enjoy a variety of recreational activities while reaping the benefits of an educationally progressive school district.
