We are located in east-central Kansas at the junction of U.S. 50 Highway, the Kansas Turnpike and Interstate 35, midway between Wichita and Topeka. Emporia, Kansas, has a population of 25,000 people and a diverse economy supported by manufacturing, retail business, agriculture and education. The city is home to the National Teachers Hall of Fame, Emporia State University at Flint Hills Technical College. Emporia Public Schools is a mid-sized district of approximately 4,300 students in eastern Kansas. Our schools are richly diverse, and we take pride in our progressive approach to instruction with Literacy First and Professional Learning Communities as the foundations for teaching, assessment, and differentiated instruction. A recent bond election has provided funding for significant upgrades to each of our school facilities. The district also provides every teacher and student with a mobile technology device. We look for motivated teachers to help us fulfill our mission: We build futures by preparing today`s students for tomorrow`s opportunities.
